100% agree Governments should not be run like a business and certainly not by the Broligarchs. It’s so sad and infuriating and I agree with everything you’ve said here.

Yep. It’s a disgrace that a convicted felon was even allowed to run for president. The world has gone mad.

You had me reading intently until you told me to unfollow you if I disagreed. You’re a supposed objective writer. Value a difference of opinion if there is one. Good article thanks.

I appreciate that you see me as an objective writer but I don't present myself as such. I have some strong opinions and I make my position clear on a number of issues, some which touch upon politics (as I believe almost everything does). I try not to fall into partisanship and poltical tribalism but I don't hide my views.

There are clear lines in the sand for me, and Trump overstepped many of those some time ago. What is happening right now is a dismantling of society and transgression and destruction of norms that serve us all and keep up safe. To argue against that is to not have a difference of opinion but to inhabit a different objective reality. I don't have time to argue with people about that, I will not debate 'facts' that are only contentious because the other person refuses to accept them. I'm all up for discussing different opinions and seeking to learn from each other but it takes two people to do that particular tango and there are a number of people who just want to jump on your toes and laugh at your pain.

That's why I put that comment in. They only argue in bad faith and we should not waste our time and energy getting sucked in by their tricks.

You have written brilliantly - in the article and in this rebuttal, if you will.

From a Canadian perspective, we can all collectively agree with you.

If those tyrants were wild and noisy wolves right now, there would be a delicious pile of raw meat waiting for them outside, but they would not be waking up in the morning.

Our heart goes out to the American people, but not the one guy - he doesn't deserve to be spit on. I have a strong opinions too.

It makes me feel physically sick too, Colin. I find listening to both Donald Trump and Elon Musk nauseating. I appreciate the way that when Rachel Maddow is reporting on their latest bogus statements she keeps the sound of their pontifications down. Even seeing their faces makes me feel ill. I have a similar reaction to drug cartel leaders. My body knows what I'm seeing.

I now have a Trump reflex where his voice causes me to involuntarily say a rather rude word. It has spread to Musk, Vance and quite a few others of his coterie.
