Wow - after the despair in the wilderness the epiphany. Great stuff Colin - your writing is inspiring and a source of hope; thank you.

Gawd, I was just beginning to cheer up when I read this.

But of course, you are right. It seems that the workplace is great as for men long as they are white and not neurodivergent in any way. Or gay. Or too young.

But not too great for anyone else.

Didn't you promise me you'd 'De-Crapify' it lol?

I'm eagerly waiting for it to happen!

Oh dear, that was supposed to be a post of hope and optimism!

And I don’t think I promised I would decrapify work, but I am trying to come up with some ideas. I think the first step is to talk about how crap it has become, because if we pretend it’s all quite normal then it’s never going to get fixed.

Talking about it is good because it makes people realise they’re not going mad.

It’s hard for people to risk speaking up though, if they need their job. If they lose favour and get managed out, how will they get alternative in this economy?

Thats why it’s important for people who aren’t still locked in corporate to speak up for them.

I was joking about it being your job to do the de-crapyfying, btw 😊
